Georgetown has a Whorehouse in it
Tuesday November 18 2008
By Carolyn Sevigny, Georgetown Globe Musical Productions

Yeehaw!Georgetown has a Whorehouse in it! And it’s the sassiest, funniest, most foot-stomping and hand-clapping place you’ll find in Halton Hills this November.
Join Georgetown Globe Musical Productions as it mounts The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, the Broadway musical made famous in a movie version by Dolly Parton and Burt Reynolds.

Get to know a fabulous cast of characters, brought to life by new and veteran Globe performers.  You’ll meet Miss Mona, a kind but tough gal who runs the Chicken Ranch and the gun-shooting, motormouth Sheriff who tries his best to protect her and her girls. You’ll love to hate Melvin P. Thorpe and his gospel-style singers who are all out to shut her down.  Your heart will go out to sweet Doatsie Mae and you’ll enjoy Jewel’s vocal romp!  Throw in a group of football players in their tighty-whiteys, a sexy bunch of Chicken Ranch gals and a side-stepping Governor and Senator and it all adds up to some hootin’ and hollerin’ fun!

Don’t miss what is sure to be one of the most talked about and fun performances of the year. The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas opens at the John Elliott Theatre at a gala performance at 8 p.m. on November 21 and has further performances at 8 p.m. on November 22, 27, 28 and 29.  Matinees are 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 23 and Saturday, November 29.

Tickets are available now at the John Elliott Theatre Box Office in Georgetown or by calling...
